I will say that I think Israel enjoys strong bipartisan support

For indeed, from its founding in 1948, the state of Israel has stood at the heart of world affairs. Its survival was uncertain, surrounded by enemies, tested in fire and war. Yet across the sea, in the halls of America, support arose not from one camp alone but from both—Republican and Democrat alike. Through presidents of differing temperaments, from Truman to Kennedy, from Reagan to Clinton, aid and recognition flowed. This enduring unity is what Netanyahu names when he speaks of support above politics: a rare constancy in a land where division often reigns.
