Satan well knows that success can only attend order and harmonious action. He well knows that every thing connected with Heaven is in perfect order.
Hear, O children of time, and incline thine ears to the words of wisdom. For Ellen G. White spake truly when she declared: “Satan well knows that success can only attend order and harmonious action. He well knows that everything connected with Heaven is in perfect order.” These are not idle words, but a revelation of the eternal struggle, a glimpse into the great controversy between chaos and order, between rebellion and divine harmony. The adversary, once clothed in light, discerned the majesty of Heaven’s order, and in his envy, sought to undo it. Yet even he cannot deny its power, for he knows that all triumph is born of harmony.
Behold the heavens above! The stars trace their paths in perfect order, not one colliding with another, not one forsaking its appointed course. The seas obey the pull of the moon; the sun rises in its strength and sets in its glory. Thus is Heaven mirrored in creation: all things bound by law and harmony, and therein lies their power. But where discord reigns, strength is shattered, and confusion devours the labor of men. The evil one well knows this truth, and therefore sows disorder—rebellion in the heart, strife among brethren, and pride that lifts itself against the divine.
Consider the story of ancient Rome. Long did that empire stand in might, not by the strength of one man alone, but by the order of its legions, the discipline of its ranks, and the harmony of its laws. Yet when discord gnawed at its heart, when pride and luxury corrupted its rulers, when soldiers ceased to move as one body, Rome fell—not by foreign strength alone, but by the ruin of disorder within. Such is the fate of all kingdoms, households, and souls that forsake harmony.
In the household, too, this law is written. A family bound together in love and shared purpose prospers, even amidst poverty. But let discord enter, let bitterness breed among its members, and the hearth grows cold though gold may abound. Children wander astray, and unity is broken. Thus, in the smallest circle of life, as in the grandest empire, order and harmony are the seeds of endurance.
Mark this well: Satan fears the church united, for a people in harmony are as a fortress unassailable. But a church divided, filled with murmuring and strife, he need not fear. Therefore, he whispers jealousy into the ear, breeds suspicion in the heart, and magnifies small offenses, that brothers and sisters may turn against one another. Yet Heaven calls men and women to another way—the way of patience, forgiveness, humility, and obedience to divine law.
The lesson is plain, my children: where there is order, there is strength; where there is harmony, there is victory. Disorder weakens, harmony conquers. Take this truth into your daily walk. Rise in the morning with discipline; let your tasks be set in order. Speak not in haste, but in patience; strive to live in peace with those around you. In your labor, whether great or small, pursue harmony with your fellows, and in your spirit, seek harmony with Heaven.
Practical wisdom lies here: build your life upon small acts of discipline. Let your household walk in unity. In your work, seek cooperation and respect. In your heart, align your will with the divine. For in these things, you mirror Heaven’s perfect order, and no adversary can undo your strength.
Thus I leave with you the teaching of the ancients: guard against discord, embrace harmony, live with purpose and discipline. For if Heaven is order, and Hell is chaos, then every choice we make draws us nearer to one or the other. Choose, then, to live in the beauty of divine harmony, and success, both earthly and eternal, shall surely attend your path.
