"Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind." Thus spoke Albert Einstein, the sage of modern times, whose mind pierced the fabric of the cosmos and whose heart still bowed before the mystery of existence. In these words lies the harmony of two ancient powers—reason and faith, inquiry and reverence. Einstein, who studied the order of the universe and found wonder rather than emptiness, saw that neither science nor religion can stand whole without the other. For science gives us knowledge—the map of what is; religion gives us meaning—the reason why it is. To separate them is to cripple the human spirit, to divide wisdom into fragments that can no longer guide the soul.

When science walks without religion, it becomes lame—it moves, but without direction. It builds cities of steel and circuits of light, yet forgets the sanctity of life that dwells within them. It teaches men how to fly, but not where to go. It gives power to the hand, but not purpose to the heart. The ancient teachers warned of this when they said that knowledge without virtue is like a sword in the hands of a madman. So too, Einstein beheld the modern age, filled with machines and discoveries, yet trembling in the shadow of its own creations. He knew that if science forgets reverence—if it loses its sense of wonder before the divine order—it limps toward destruction, brilliant yet broken.

And yet, religion without science is blind. It gropes in darkness, clinging to old forms and fears, unable to see the living truth that unfolds through knowledge. When faith rejects discovery, it denies the very Creator whose laws it claims to honor. The stars, the atoms, the rhythms of the seas—all these are divine testimonies written in the language of science. To turn away from them is to close one’s eyes to the glory of creation. The blind religion of ignorance breeds superstition and fear; it clings to dogma and shuns inquiry. But true religion, said Einstein, welcomes science as its companion—for to study the universe is to read the handwriting of God.

Consider the story of Galileo Galilei, the astronomer who turned his telescope toward the heavens and saw truth that the world was not ready to accept. The Church of his time condemned him, for they feared that science would destroy faith. Yet in silencing Galileo, they dimmed their own light. For what Galileo had seen was not an enemy of religion, but a revelation of God’s deeper order. Centuries later, both science and faith came to honor his vision, proving Einstein’s wisdom: that science and religion are not rivals but reflections of the same eternal truth. One reveals the mechanism of creation; the other reveals its meaning.

Einstein himself was no blind believer. His religion was that of awe—the deep, wordless reverence for the intelligence and beauty woven into the cosmos. When he looked upon the equations that governed the stars, he saw the signature of something greater than man. His science did not lead him away from faith, but toward a spiritual humility that transcended creed. He saw that the more we understand, the more mysterious reality becomes. Thus, science without reverence stumbles, and faith without reason loses its sight; but together they form the full vision of truth, where knowledge bows before wonder, and wonder awakens understanding.

This harmony of mind and spirit is not reserved for the philosopher or the priest—it belongs to every soul that seeks balance in a divided world. The modern man, surrounded by knowledge, must not forget wisdom; and the faithful soul, comforted by belief, must not reject understanding. Each of us is both a seeker and a believer, called to unite curiosity with compassion, inquiry with humility. In this union lies the secret of peace—within the heart and within the world.

So, my listener, take this teaching to heart: seek knowledge with reverence, and hold faith with open eyes. Do not fear science—it is the language through which creation speaks. Do not despise faith—it is the song that gives life its harmony. Let your intellect be a lamp and your spirit its flame. Look at the world not as a puzzle to dominate, but as a mystery to honor.

For when science and religion walk hand in hand, man becomes whole again. He learns not only how to harness the power of the stars, but how to bow before their splendor. He learns not only to measure time, but to treasure eternity. In that union—of truth and wonder, reason and reverence—humanity fulfills its highest calling: to understand creation, and in understanding, to love it.
