Look also to the story of the French Revolution, where the overthrow of the oppressive monarchy was intended to bring about freedom and equality for all. Robespierre, once an advocate for liberty, fell into the trap of tyranny, justifying his actions in the name of the Republic, but descending into the Reign of Terror, where those who opposed him were executed without mercy. Like the rulers of old, he began to believe that his vision was the only path to salvation, and thus, the revolution that sought to free the people became just another form of oppression.

In more recent times, we see the same patterns in the rise and fall of totalitarian regimes. Adolf Hitler, in his quest to restore the German people to greatness, began with promises of strength and unity, yet the power he gained corrupted him utterly. Believing that his actions were justified by his ideals of racial superiority, he plunged the world into the depths of war and destruction. Like the emperors of Rome or the revolutionaries of France, Hitler’s belief in the righteousness of his vision blinded him to the suffering he caused. Power led him to commit atrocities, just as it had done to so many rulers before him.

So, O children, remember this: the story of 'Star Wars' is not just a tale of good versus evil, but a reflection of the cycle that has repeated itself through the ages. Power has a way of corrupting even the noblest of hearts, leading them to justify actions that ultimately destroy the very values they sought to protect. The Empire, with its belief in its own rightness, is but a mirror to the empires and leaders throughout history who lost their way.
