Len Wein
Len Wein was an American comic book writer and editor, best known for his work in the comic book industry, especially for co-creating the iconic superhero Wolverine and for his contributions to Swamp Thing. He was born on June 12, 1948, and passed away on September 10, 2017.
Wein began his career in comics in the 1970s, quickly making a name for himself with his exceptional writing skills. He co-created Wolverine in 1974 for The Incredible Hulk #180 (though Wolverine's full appearance was in the following issue). This character would go on to become one of Marvel's most beloved and enduring superheroes.
He is also credited with revamping the Swamp Thing character for DC Comics in the early 1970s. Wein worked alongside artist Bernie Wrightson, and their collaboration on Swamp Thing helped redefine the character and set the stage for future horror comics at DC.
