And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

The Lord Jesus Christ once proclaimed with majesty and power: “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with Me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” In these words, recorded in the Revelation, He declares the certainty of His return, the swiftness of His judgment, and the eternal scope of His being. He is both rewarder and judge, and in His hands lies the destiny of every soul.

The promise, “I come quickly,” is not merely about time but about certainty. His coming is sure, sudden, and irresistible, like lightning flashing across the heavens. For those who endure in righteousness, this promise is comfort; for those who stray in wickedness, it is a warning. The reward He carries is not arbitrary, but measured according as each man’s work shall be—a reminder that faith and action are bound together, and that each deed is weighed in eternal scales.

When He declares, “I am Alpha and Omega,” He proclaims Himself the eternal One—the beginning of creation and the consummation of history. In the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, the first and last, lies the truth that all things find their origin and fulfillment in Him. No power, no nation, no mortal life stands outside His dominion. He is the first and the last, the eternal constant, unshaken by time, sovereign over all.

This revelation was given to strengthen the weary and to embolden the faithful. In times of persecution, when kingdoms rise against truth and the faithful are despised, these words remind us that the story does not belong to empires, but to Christ, who holds both beginning and end in His hand. His reward is certain, His justice sure, His reign unending.

So let this wisdom be carried through the generations: live with integrity, for your works are seen; endure with hope, for your reward is near; and trust with reverence, for the One who is Alpha and Omega is also the shepherd of your soul. The end of all things rests not in chaos, but in the hands of Him who is both the first and the last. And in that truth lies both comfort and holy fear.

This quote feels like a reminder of both accountability and hope. The idea of Jesus coming to reward people based on their work suggests a sense of justice, but it also promises something beyond this life. My question is, how do we prepare for that moment in our lives? Is it about doing good works, or is there a deeper spiritual preparation we need to engage in to truly receive the reward He speaks of?

When Jesus says He comes quickly and brings rewards for every person’s work, it raises questions about how we define 'work' in the spiritual sense. Is it only about outward actions, or does it include the internal work we do—our faith, our struggles, and our growth? How do we balance the concept of divine reward with the everyday challenges of life, especially when it feels like our efforts might go unnoticed?

The statement that Jesus is the 'Alpha and Omega' is both profound and humbling. It reminds us that He is both the beginning and the end, implying His eternal nature. But does that also mean our actions on Earth are part of a larger, divine plan? I wonder, how does this perspective influence how we view our purpose in life? Is it about serving a greater purpose, or can it also be about personal fulfillment within that divine framework?

This quote from Jesus is incredibly powerful. It speaks to the idea of divine judgment, where every person is rewarded based on their actions. But I can’t help but wonder, how do we reconcile the concept of a loving God with this idea of judgment? Is the reward only about our deeds, or is it also about the heart behind those deeds? How can we be sure we are living in alignment with this divine purpose?
